The key to these late night eats is to make them a little bit indulgent, but not heavy or cumbersome. The goal isn’t to serve a second meal and have your guests ready to roll out of your event stuffed; but to satisfy the late night craving that comes with a night of dancing, socializing and drinking.

 At this time of night, defenses are generally down and guests are ready to indulge in a small amount of something they might not find as tempting in the middle of the day. If served an hour or two before the end of the event, they can even breathe a second life into your event and energize your guests to make it to the finish line.

Salty and sweet are some of our favorite late night choices. We’ve seen donut tables, chocolate drizzled caramel popcorn, grilled cheese triangles with a shot of tomato soup, pizza, french fries, hot dogs and candy bars hit the spot for delighted guests.

At weddings, the late night snack can be a good way to get personal with bride and groom favorites. At a recent Chicago couple’s wedding in St. Louis, the couple brought in White Castle sliders- a 2am tradition in the Chicagoland area -  to the cheers of their guests.

Companies can also make a big impression at holiday parties and celebrations by bringing in a late night snack that goes back to the company’s roots. Or even a beloved founder’s favorite food. We helped create one late night table where the CEO was known to enjoy milk and cookies every night and the night of the company holiday party, he shared a shot of milk and two mini chocolate chip cookies with the entire party and made them all feel like family.
